A supercooled liquid will stay in a liquid state below the normal freezing point when it has little opportunity for nucleation; that is, if it is pure enough and has a smooth enough container. Once agitated it will rapidly become a solid.
It happens in my freezer all the time. The kids freeze the water bottles just to see it happen. The Nestles water does it the best, Ozarka doesn't do it that often.
Same here do it all the time at home it's really cool. But Instead of turning it upside down and hittin the bottle I just bang real hard on the kitchen counter.
