Save the money on a water softener and look up Scale Blaster. I'm a plumber and these things are awesome and you can install it by yourself. http://www.scaleblaster.com/

So the Scale Blaster works just about the same? For $795 for the SB-150 that's about 1/6th the price of a water softener.

Keystone, let me know if you end up getting it. I have been contemplating a water softener for a while, but this would be a cheaper solution no doubt.

Where do you get your water softeners? I paid less than $500 for mine at Home Depot and installed it myself.

I do not use salt rither. I use potassium chloride. That stuff has gonre through the roof in the last couple years.

Home Depot had some guy come out to my house trying to sell me a $5k setup. I take it that was the top of the line whatever...

I installed one for BobG here on the GS at his hunting cabin. Ask him what he thinks. All of my other customers who had them have liked them. I can't really give out their info due to them being customers and that wouldn't be very wise or professional of me but you can look up reviews online of them.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they were trying to sell me something more than just the softener. I'm not really sure. I was more interested in teh Home DEpot gift card they promised for the demonstration

Hey Viper, were you at Academy in Round Rock yesterday? If not, your twin was there around 5pm.
