    Recurve Bow Question

My son is looking to purchase a inexpensive recurve 29.5 draw, i know nothing about these as i shoot a compound. Does anyone have any suggestions on a decent new or used one/ or is anyone selling one?

    Thanks for your help

no help on finding one, but with that long draw he needs to stick with a 60" bow or longer.

Look on the trad page and in the classifieds. Someone was selling a couple. Just make sure he doesn't over bow himself

Google samick sage. Very inexpensive good quality bow that will grow with your son

If 29.5" is your compound draw length, you may find your recurve draw length is about an inch shorter when everything is said and done.

I've owned 3 recurves in my life, and all 3 have been Wing Archery Red Wing Hunters, 58" long. I still have my 1st one from when I was a kid and bought it with money I earned delivering newspapers. Check craigslist and search Red Wing Hunter. That's what I'd tell a friend or my son (who's also a friend) to shoot if they wanted to try trad.

Don't over-bow yourself, the last 6 inches of draw with a recurve are harder since there is no let-off and uses rear shoulder and back muscles that I think trad archery is the only sport that develops and strengthens them.
