    KJO questions

I'm looking into the exotic & wild hog hunt and had a couple questions..
What are the odds of getting an exotic and two hogs within a 2 day hunt? If the package is 500 but I'm assuming you tip and all that? What's a fair tip? I just wouldn't want to be a cheapo or anything.. From reading on the website I'm guessing you furnish your own food and drinks?? And it says guest available for 50/day does that allow them to sit in stand with you??

All good questions. I will be going Father's Day weekend, and hope to have 3 tagging along. Bring your own food and drinks. Tip is up to you. This last father's day hunt I could have killed out if I would have shot strait. I missed a small hog. I did shoot my Axis doe and a pig, but my buddy didn't get his shot. Nothing is a for sure there, but if you hunt hard and smart you can get it done.

The animals at KJO are smart, but you should have an opportunity. Tipping is up to each person, I normally tip at least 10% of the hunt cost. All you have to bring is your food, drinks, bedding and towels. He has all type of stands and either has a feeder or he will put out corn when he drops you off. If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a PM.

Your original questions have pretty much been covered.

I will say this though, in the 7 years I have been hunting there (sometimes as much as 10 trips a year), I can count on one hand how many times I wouldn't have gotten my chosen animal. With that being said, some times it was no shot op, but honestly more times than not it was because I was there hanging out with a good friend more than I was there for the hunt.

If you are looking for a "Trophy" animal............ Bring your A game! They are not the big boys for no reason.

I am headed to KJO again early March. You will have a blast! Here is an example of hunts from from last July. I dont think it is wise to go into the hunt assuming you will shoot an exotic and two hogs. Go into the hunt focused on getting a shot at your exotic. The rest is hunting.

              July 22 hunt

Hunter 1= Exotics package = shot an aoudad/hog

Hunter 2= Exotics Package = Missed huge aoudad, passed on some smaller ones

Hunter 3= Axis Doe package = shot 2 hogs missed a hog, had does within 30, but no shot presented.

Hunter 4= Ram package= Shot his ram/ hog/ missed hog

Hunter 5= Exotics package= shot an aoudad/missed a hog/ saw huge blackbuck after already shooting my exotic + saw axis does

Our group was very blessed to have this much opportunity. Make sure and tell Keith what you are after, he will do his best to help you find it. You will have a great time. Take good food to cook and enjoy good company. He'll probably have a fight on to watch in the evening.

As far as the extra person in the stand, I dont know this answer, but I would be willing to bet if it is a spouse or child, he would probably allow it. Not sure though, you might want to call him or pm one of the guys who frequents more than we do. (DrenalinJunkie or Charrell71)

              Good Luck!

Thanks for all the info guys.. I will not be taking someone to the stand even if they did allow it cause now that I think about it I wanted to take my little cousin but he doesn't have very much experience, a hunt would be a big expense for me so I couldn't take the chance on him being there..

When you decide to go, keep me in mind if you need another spot filled. I'm always looking for an excuse to head to Keith's!
