    Any tractor mechanics around here...

I have a JD tractor 4100 with a front front loader bucket on it and backdrag...

Last week the hydraulics started to fade really bad so I replaced the fluid and still have the same problem...the bucket will not move and if it does its very slow and will not pick up any weight..

    Ideas???

Filters clogged or pump is bad. Start with filter would be my suggestion.

Filter is clean....and from what I was told by the JD peeps....pump is almost indestructable and cannot be rebuilt..

I had that problem three years ago on my 5205. Turned out to be a small piece of gear in the rear wheel drive broke off and lodged in the hydraulic system. Took them forever to find the problem and they were not shy about charging me $5200 to repair it. Ouch!!!

That is usually exactly what has happened when you have plenty of hydraulic oil, a new filter and a strong pump.

            This is correct.

Pull every line, backflush, and you might....might find it.

I got lucky - mine was in the second line I pulled.

                Well the adventure ENDED today.....

After changing the fluid a while back, then flushing it again a week of two ago...

                The problem was still there..

So today I took the Selective control valve off which consisted of the entire right side of the tractor apart...LOL

Took the SCV to my dealer and he said its good to go...

So put it all back together and back at square one till I got a call from a local tractor mechanic. He told me that on RARE occasions a tractor will come in with the same symptoms as mine....Hydraulics creeping badly and ZERO lift power..

He said it might sound funny and make zero sense, but to check the internal seals in the bucket rams......BOTH sides were bad...and he did say that some times it will make the entire system go crazy..he was right..

After 50.00 for two seal rebuild kits and some more work in the shop ..I now have a tractor that is running great with zero issues..

Would make sense since cylinders are bypassing sending fluid back around

wonder if that might be why my fel is bleeding down.......I dont have any leaks anywhere but as soon as you cut the engine you can hear it creep down every few minutes.
