Where about are you in Zapata? Just asking cause i hunt just north of there and it be cool to see one. We'll be hunting hogs the next few weeks.

I'm your neighbor and I've seen a big one out there not long ago... And other sightings over the years
They move through every now and then I wouldn't see a fence stopping them either

Fence won't stop them. Electricity at top will. Know of a lion that killed several desert sheep in a high fence, but it was less than a 50 acre pen I believe. Expensive lesson. Good luck, and dogs will be best bet IMO.
