    GM instrument cluster repair

Anyone know anyone that can replace the instrument cluster on my 2004 GMC Sierra in the SETX area? Its been out for several years, i just been using a GPS to give me my speed but now the gas gauge is starting to act up. Dealerships want over 500 to fix. I should have had it fixed before I moved, i knew someone that did then for 200 and guaranteed them for 2 years but like a lot of things i always put it off. thanks.

Following. Ours is out in the suburban, we also use the GPS. I figure its just a matter of time before the fuel gauge goes.

There are several people on CL that advertise the repair. I'm pretty sure I seen one one the classifieds on here

PM Atfulldraw. He had a website link that a buddy of mine used and fixed it for less that $30 but you need to be able to solder. it was quick and easy.

Several people repair on the big auction site. Sent mine to someone in Ft Worth and had it back in 4 days.

if you can solder its very easy to fix. you can get the stepper motor off of ebay for 3-4 bucks. Replace them and your back in business.

I did mine myself. Bought the kit off ebay. Took 1 hour total. You dont replace the whole panel , just the individual steper motor parts ehing each gauge.

Well I'm not good enough at soldering to try this! There is a guy on CL that travels around Jasper-Beaumont-Port Arthur-Orange area and repairs them at your site for $150 and guarentees them for life. Just wondering if he was legit or not. Anyone can ppost an add and say they can repair them, then you wind up with more problems than you had before.
