    Bees in and around feeder.

I've never seen this bad or at any time in the past.

I wanted to check if the feeder needs filling up. Saw army of bees around the spinner plate. This has never happened before in two years I've been here.

I tried to use wasp/hornet spray can. I know its bee not wasp/hornet. It looks like it has no effect on it.

I'm allergic to stings. Didn't want to risk any further so I left the area.

The plate was empty so I kick the leg, kernels came down but bees removed it now the plate are empty so I kick the leg and kernels came down but then bees removed it again. Son of a gun! Lol

Any one of you encounter this before?

Let it run completely out and they should leave. They were swarming one of ours and would chase the deer off 2 years ago.

Wasp/Hornet spray just makes bees mad. It doesn't kill 'em, well not right away at least. The best thing to kill bees is just warm soapy water in a pump up sprayer. They will drop instantly.

Could be they are trying to build in your feeder barrel. Don't know why they'd be hanging around your feeder unless maybe you put something like that Buck Candy in your corn and it's sweet to them. maybe they are trying to harvest that... If a queen has set up residence in your barrel, you'll continue to have problems until any signs of a hive are removed COMPLETELY. A tiny bit of wax or anything that smells will continue to attract them. From experience, I tell you, they aren't to be taken lightly.

Yup! I've used BC for a while. Maybe a year now. Never see like this. Maybe that's why??

It looks like less bee now but not sure if it will be back. I knocked on the feeder. It's empty. Grr. Need come bck next weekend and fill it. Right now, its too risky for me.

Bees are hungry for any pollen right now. We actually put out cracked corn for them and they are all over it.

They LOVE Buck Candy! Can't keep them nor the yellow jackets away from that stuff.

Yeah but never around the feeder or inside the spinner plate. I guess they are desperate for sweetness/nectar for their honey?

They are after the Buck Candy. Leave the lid off your container and see how fast they show up!
