    Urgent Propane Question!!!!

Two days ago I installed a new gas dryer from a box store while fighting a fever and flu symptoms. The dryer was supposed to be delivered with a propane conversion kit. I never saw it and spaced the whole thing until tonight. My wife told me about black marks (carbon) on the vent inside the dryer already. Then it hits me like a ton of bricks. Oh man, no conversion kit.

Wife wants to dry one more load before we stop using it.

    Am I in danger?

What's the worst that can happen?

I'm very remote in Colorado at the moment and getting to town will be a chore. i.e. I can't just run out and get anything.

    Thanks.

Yes but we've (unintentionally) been doing it for two days now. Should we finish drying the wet clothes or stop because of immediate danger?

Personally I'd be worried about tearing up a new dryer that won't be warrantied myself.

I would stop completely and just let the clothes air dry... a LOT easier to deal with damp clothes than a fire in the middle of nowhere!

those conversion kits are absolutely there for a reason

Ok Were done drying clothes. Thanks guys. Hopefully we haven't hurt anything by running hot for a couple of days. I guess the Lord is looking out for us.

It more than likely came with it, to convert isn't much prob just a exchange of a brass screw in orifice. Lp will have a lot smaller hole (due to lp is higher pressure).
If you keep running it basically your over firing it burning it up!

I had to buy the LP conversion separately but it wasn't delivered along with everything else. Dumb ole' me hooks everything up while running a fever and hops back in bed while the wife enjoys the new setup. Called the Home Depot just now and they are sending me another one free of charge.

You may want to call Hank Hill. I know Arlen is a good ways from Westcliffe, but I bet he could get your questions answered and send you whatever you need to fix it overnight. Strickland propane rocks!!
