Lets See Those Hog Mounts

Shot this ole boy back in the day with a two blade broadhead. He was in a thicket and I didn't see a one inch sapling that was directly in line with his heart. Broadhead just happened to line up vertically with the sapling and split it right in half and then the arrow had just enough umph to hit the hog right in the heart. He made a couple helicopter spins spewing blood all around and went feet up in a very short time. A hog I'll always remember!

Thins to think about when deciding how to get your mount. There are not many poses for hogs in the taxidermy world. If you want extreme action in a hog mount, get an offset shoulder. Most charging hogs have their ears forward as hogs usually flare up to look bigger when threaten. No disrespect to any of the above mounts, but when doing an open mount aggressive pose- ears forward usually gives them "the look". Of course there are exceptions to any animal/taxidermy rule.
