The camera must have caught them, and they didn't want you to have proof of who was trespassing. You need to set up a well hidden camera facing an obvious one

We've caught people on our cameras but they never seem to know the camera is there. I try to hide them as much as possible but I'm sure I'll have one stolen sooner or later.

Sucks....I'm looking to pick up a camera soon. Stories like this make me think I'll get a cheap one.

Happened twice to me this past season. After the second one I placed a camera on the fence line where I found tracks and what do ya know? The dumb arse came back for another. Got his pic and took it to the ranch foreman. Bingo he recognized the arsehole. It was the neighboring ranch owners 20 year old son. Called the Game Warden and in the end got reimbursed for both cameras. The only thing I didn't get was the satisfaction of whooping his tail. Who knows maybe I'll get a shot at it later.
