Good Shooting Range around NW Austin

I am taking the family out Saturday and do a little shooting, need to sight in my daughter new gun and my 30-30. Where is the best place to do this around NW Austin or any of the surrounding counties.

Their is a Reds Indoor Range up in north Austin, closer to Round Rock. Google it.

Eagle Peak is not bad, and cheaper than Red's. They go 50 to 300 yds rifle, and 7 to 25 yds pistol. They allow .22 rife at the 25yd pistol.

They also have 5 stand trap, and maybe skeet, I'm not sure about the skeet.

Membership is $10 for a lifetime, shooting is $10/day, no limit on guns or time. Your daughter can shoot with you. She can't have a membership until she's 17 (I think) and they will charge her $10 to shoot with you.

They are decent guys, and if you go during the day, midweek, you sometimes have the whole place to yourself.

The only drawback is that they don't allow spectators. If you're on the range, you pay your $10 membership and range fee.

edit to add: Eagle Peak is off Nameless road just a little north of 1431, lots closer than Reds.

I didn't get the scope yet. I will go to Acedamy Friday and see what they have.

I've seen that range but was told that kids couldn't shoot there. I guess I was misinformed

Your kid has to be with you at all times, but they can shoot. My son started going with me a little before his 9th birthday.

Call them and ask them... then call me and tell me. I want to take Dalton there. I plan on sighting it in, in my back yard and let him shoot at the range.

I went there years ago and they would not let Spencer shoot. I'm thinking they may have changed hands or changed policies.
