My brother in law ownes an archery shop in ruidoso.. He shot the new dna with the sales rep last month and said it is awsome a little bit of hand vib but it was solved with a stabilizer.. He said it was fast and quiet and that the draw cycle was really nice on it.. I just sold my outlaw and i just had him order the dna for myself...

Thank you I appreciate the help. Would like to shoot one but like I said no one has one in my area. Next best thing was to ask my brother hunters. Thanks again!!!!!!!

Yea not a problem.. I know the bow dealers in my area dont keep them either... If the creed shoots like the helim then im not a fan imo the helim was nice because it was light but i didnt like the hold or the after shoot it had alot of vibe to me, the insanity was a better bow to me a little heavy but more comfortable... But when i heard about the dna from my brother in law and the reviews i have seen i decided to get it..

Yea I shot the creed and draw was not that smooth for a mathews IMO. I like the insanity but with the limb paint flaking didn't want that. So I was looking at the DNA and with that speed didn't no if it had a lot of hand shock or not?

Shot one when the REP was at On Target in Canton. It was a great bow. I don't think you will go wrong in getting one.

Yea i agree with the draw on the new mathews to me they have just not been up to par with the new bows as far as draw compared to older models .. And i was going to get the insanity instead of the dna but like you said with the paint flakeing off and i have heard of them jumping out of tune very easy so i oppted out of it... And all the reveiws that i have seen and heard say there is a lil bit of hand vib on the dna but there all just shooting bare bow with a bisket on it, and the in law said the stabilizer knocked it out no problem ...

i have shot them and am waiting on them to trickle in, so far i've only been able to get one through the door pse is backed up the orders,, it is half pound lighter than the evo ibo is 352, its 31"ata,, has about a 30# weight range and can be had in 65 and 55 pound versions as well as the standard 50-60-70#,, it is very quiet the draw is smooth and steady through the draw cycle, there is no huge drop into the valley a little more can be created if u want it by moving the draw stops back 1/2" from the draw length mod setting,,,

no body even if they are carrying them is geting very many in,

FOUND YOU A REVIEW GARY ITS LONG BUT ITS GOOD

Well a DNA finally showed up for one of my local guys and (of course) I couldn’t resist the urge to have Scottie/PA set it up at 27.5 first. My buddy is FULLY AWARE of me running it through the paces first.

                        Super fast review starts….now.

This bow showed up maxing at just under 62 lbs. on my Pelouze and just a hair over 27.5 dl.
The fit and finish…perfect. I’m really surprised PSE bows with the number they make/ship turn out as good as they are. Camo on the limbs looks great. Clear and not stretched one bit. Black finish on the riser…love it. I think the Black on the PSE bows is my fav to date. I have not seen a black Prime, heard they were good, but the PSE black looks super. The cams look even better, less machine marks that some of the bows in the past. Riser shows some light marks, but there is a ton of work done to improve the look and feel. Well done again to PSE. The grip is very comfortable and very repeatable. It feels a little wider that a few of the older PSEs like the Bowmadness, but I think that the Raptor is the same grip on the Axe/Evo. Regardless, it’s still think, smooth and feels great in my hand, without being a torque inducing disaster.

The weight on this bow is as described LIGHT. I’m not a light bow fan, as I add a bunch of weight to even my hunting bows, but for those who crave a light bow…this thing feels like a toy. No heft to it like my Rush (though I still liked that bow)…I’ll have to weigh it tonight and get you my real world weight.

The draw is smooth. It’s not overly stiff, or even stiffer up front like my Answer and Rush were, it is a very manageable smooth draw all the way back. For a bow with this level of speed, I have not drawn a smoother start to finish bow to date. I feel zero humpty dumpty at the end of the dc. Unlike the Creed which I think blows in the last few inches, this bow is still silk to the wall. Feels smoother than the new Hoyt RKT and a little less stout up front. (I like that cam too btw).

The valley is short yes, but it’s very do able. With a few shots I was used to it. Same for the LO. It takes a bit of thinking at first, but it was not that big of a deal to me. Letting down the bow is also rather easy, once it goes it’s almost smooth in reverse, if that makes any sense. It will not rip your arm off (and I have a bad rotator). To me it is a shootable and usable valley and with a little time I would be willing to bet the LO would not bother me one bit.

The wall is actually not bad at all. I’m a big limb stop fan, and though this is no double limb stop, it feels solid. I could easily shoot this type of wall. The Axe and Evo feel substantially softer. Nice change PSE. If you have shot a Chill this year, this is 10x more solid than that mushy mess. I did not care for that wall at all.

The shot is impressive. This thing feels fast! Due to the weather I have not chrono-d it yet (still need a new LED for the Shooting Chrony thanks to my little helpers) but it hits the target HARD. For a speed bow, I think this bow has the least amount of vibration I’ve ever tested. It’s almost dead, toss a Doinker on it and it is DEAD. For the light weight and the speed, I challenge you to find a more vibe free bow with similar specs. Again, well done PSE.

Noise, now I’ve seen some people say it is a super silent bow, some even think it’s the most quiet they have seen. This is where I have to disagree a bit. Now it is far from loud, but I do catch some noise to the bow that I have yet to isolate. It might be my sight or something I can address, but there is a little noise. It sounds about like my Element RKT. Not bad at all, but noticeable. My Rush seemed to be a little less noisy, and side by side to day with a 55# Bowmadness, the DNA was a tick louder.

Overall, I am impressed. It’s a more forgiving speed bow with good hunting properties. It is smooth, fast and very vibe free. It holds well on target and is not overly loud by any means. Now I was not really thinking of owning one other than the looks and specs (thanks to the **** pics Mel, Rod, Shane and some others….) but after running the bow for the last two days I’m leaning towards buying one in Skullworks. I will try to post a few pics up of this set up and let you know how the new owner feels after he picks it up on Monday.
