    AstroFlight Strings

Anyone ever used AstroFlight strings by Brownell? I'm about to re-string my bow and wondering if these are any good. Any other suggestions for a moderately priced replacement string? Thanks!

Astroflight is 100% HMPE SK78 Dyneema.

It's a great material, but there is better where 100% Dyneema is concerned.

It's a little more expensive, but the XS2 is SK90 Dyneema, and there is a noticeable difference between the two. The XS2 having the edge.

Over on Archery Talk, John Moshier, aka Breathn, gets a great following as a string maker/bow tune guy. I bought a new PSE about 3 years ago, sent him my new bow with an arrow marked where I wanted the "back wall" to stop and he replaced the factory string/cables and set up my peep and Drop Zone rest. My peep uses no tubing to align it and it hasn't moved in 3 years. But great work is not cheap.

I would stick with bcy 452x or trophy for string material on a compound. End serving is gonna depend on what bow and cam. Some Mathews love to eat end serving. If this is your problem go with halo serving.

bcy 8190 will wear better than the 452X, the astro-flight is a fast fiber as well.
