I have lived in this area for nearly my whole life 35+ years (moved in elementary school) and would not eat at Sammy's if they gave away the food. Castroville is really limited on their choices of restraunts. I agree that if you run up the road a few minutes to Herman Sons and get the Mexican Chicken Fried steak you cannot go wrong. Cora's is also an excellent choice going towards Rio Medina, but they have a limited menu. I ussually go their in the evening for a few cold drinks and their Nacho's, which are really good. They have kinda funny hours and might not be open for lunch. This is all just my opinion and we all have different taste, I just know what I know from growing up there.
