Big Pig Down. Then I Went Down Too!
Got an invite by a friend from church tonight to go hog hunting on his place in Salado. I'd hoped to get a shot with my bow, but ended up gun hunting more than bow hunting because we were walking around the whole time through pretty thick brush.
After about 45 minutes of walking, we walked up on a group of hogs with 2 big sows, and about 15 little pigs. I had the clearest view, so I got to shoot first. I knocked this big sow down, and then the little pigs went crazy. They almost ran a complete circle around us before they finally figured out how to get out of there. In the process, we managed to kill 2 of them.
Once we got up to cut the sow up, I turned into an accident machine. I kneeled down to start cutting, and sat on a cactus. I ended up having to take my pants off so that I could get all the prickleys out of my butt. After I got all the thorns out (so I thought...
), I walked back over to get back to work on the hog, but forgot to tie my boots. I went to step over the hog, and tripped over my shoelace, falling flat on my back on top of the hog. I ended up looking straight up at the sky from my back, bent over the hog at my waist. It was pretty embarrassing to say the least.
Still got a decent LDP.
I'm hoping to get a few hogs in the next week. My wife is off work for spring break (she's a teacher), so I don't have Mr. Mom duties this week.
