I go thru Brownwood all most Fri evening and Humphrey Pete's is always packed. Is it that good?

Not familiar with that one, but I have been going to Underwoods for decades when I go through Brownwood. Never left unsatisfied.

I think it is actually Early, right on the city limits. On the bank of Pecan Bayou.

I've been a couple times. I thought it was pretty good, not the best I've ever had for steak but definetly worth it imo. Everything is grilled over mesquite coals I believe. I ordered the quail once, thought they were good too.

Very inconsistant, it's just good enough. I've been disappointed more times than not when I leave. It's about the only place that serves that type of menu in brownwood. I think it's lack of options more than great food. I don't ever eat there unless I have the family in tow.

True about it being inconsistant, but the steaks are pretty good. Brownwood doesn't have a whole lot of good restaraunts to choose from so that is why they are always packed..

I've only been once and yes, it was that good. I must have been there on a good night.

If I had to choose between Humphrey Pete's & underwoods, I'd choose HP's every time.

I usually get the Fried Chicken. And their cobler and rolls are some of the best. JMO

Underwoods is horrible..... There's not much of a selection to begin with though....

It's pretty good, but for the best steak in Brownwood/Early go to Prima Pasta.

Underwoods is terrible. A group of us stopped in about two months ago. We smelld the food and saw it and walked out its good if you are over seventi. Thats all that was in there. it smelled and looked nasty.
