    Alternative to a SKULL Mount

Have you ever cut a set of antlers off a skull and wished you would not have and would have instead cleaned the skull for a euro mount?
Well, here is an option for you. This is what they call Art Skulls. They are plastic casts that come in two styles, one for sheds or antlers that have been cut at the burr, or like the ones you cut off your deer and wished you had not.
They is a couple a different brands out there and they have them for not only deer but Caribuo, elk, moose, axis, black buck and many more. They even have hog and wart hog skulls to display those teeth you pulled. McKenzie carries the whole line, but not this panel, those come from Van Dykes. The skull in the pics is also from Van Dykes but I will not use them any more, the McKenzie I like much better than this one.
I have been using them as an option for customers and like them more and more. No need or cost to clean the skulls by boiling, rotting or bugs. They make a nice clean alternative and thought I would share it.
These run around $40 from McKenzie and you will need some two part epoxy putty and some off white paint.

Man talk about saving some time and mess....I'd have no problem with the skull not being "original equipment"...

      Thanks for the heads up.

Dang. I got one setting in the flower bed right now and it could have already been in the house!

I didn't notice any teeth in the mount, takes away from the originality. Still not bad for not having to do the skull cleaning.
