Wet! In between lanes the slush is building up and can suprise you when you switch lanes. People are driving like it's a solid sheet of ice though!
40mph most of the way in, not because the roads were bad, but because people were freaked out!

I was just out and it's not good in Arlington. Traffic map on the news looks really bad and the worst at 35 and 20.

I lived 2 years in Washington state. There I learned how to drive in snow, even ride a motorcycle in snow.

If you're moving in a straight line (highway) and you lose traction, unless another force is applied (acceleration, deceleration, turning), you'll slide in the same direction you've been going until you pick up traction again. Change lanes carefully, don't jam the gas, give plenty of braking room, and go ahead and drive 50-60. Made it to work today driving that fast when 820 finally opened up a bit in a torquey RWD truck no problem, without ever putting it in 4.
