1st off you CAN NOT get the flu from getting the shot. Yes, years ago you could but not anymore. You can still catch the flu tho. There is over a 100 plus strain of the flu. The flu shot covers a very small % of those. It covers what they think the biggest strain will be for this year.
Sure you can medic flu like symptoms at the least, just like it can be transferred from individual to individual by way of the nasal mist...
I have an issue with the nasal mist and children.
The CDC contradicts everything about the word can't..,
Package inserts make for interesting reading, just like lining up to get vaccinations like sheep.

I am a pharmacy tech, here's what my pharmacists tell me:
This years flu shot covers 3 strains of the flu. It is about 60% effective in keeping you flu free.
It takes up to 2 weeks for the shot to be fully effective. If you get the shot and then get the flu, you were exposed to the flu BEFORE you got the shot.
The shot WILL NOT give you the flu!
You can still get the shot now (if you can find it in stock) but you really should've done it in August or September (keep that in mind for next year)!

THIS!!!! Thanks for saving me from typing on that on my phone.
I will not take it. And I was forced to take it in the military, i usually had flu like symptoms for a day or two after. Had the flu 3 times even with the shot. Only had flu one time prior to military and not in 6 years of being out.
My X and the kids got the shot this year and had the flu.
I work in the hospital and have been around several who had the flu, most have had the flu shot.
With only 4 flu shot makers in the world, one in Europe, one in China
And with past history of things like mercury in shots, i dont want that risk.
If you have a healthy immune system, there is NO need to get a shot, IMO.
My work did give out flu shots, and MADE me sign paperwork to decline the shots.
I assume it was for if I did get the flu, it may be a way they could hold it against me for paid time off from work or even insurance benefits????
Flu shot is not a live virus, it only covers what they think the main strains may be.
A lot of people don't know the difference between a cold and the flu. Some people get a flu shot, then catch a bad cold and think the shot didn't work, especially if they end up with a fever from a secondary infection such as an upper respiratory infection.
