    Any mining/relic interest

I thought this was interesting. These oak water troughs are located downhill from a spring at a few different elevation levels. The boom of the location was during the 1890's. Not saying these tubs were their at that time but maybe?

They run down toward some gold mines. The troughs are about 4' deep. I would imagine we will find some wooden pipeline as we have come across it nearby.

My brother found this old pipe wrench near the tubs.

We need to clear some timber off of the location this summer. Were gonna put the mill up there and mill some oak to repair/refurbish the troughs. Plus get some water to them so the bears have a place to relax.

Have seen some of the same engineering on some of the old ranches in the Gila above Reserve. The old wooden pipe is cool.

I like that kind of stuff.I use to look all around the old mines in Colorado when we were up there.I always wanted to go in the mines but the boss lady would throw a fit when I tried.

Cool area. Might want to get a metal detector and see what turns up.

Definitely with detectors. Please be careful who you tell, things can get out of hand very easily.

If it were mine I think I'd want to try and find some gold. Who knows. Might be a good vein of ore on your place if they found gold in the area previously.

I always had an interest in mining and old relics. Years back I spent some time on a mining claim in Arizona and made numerous trips out there. Had an old hardrock mine on it that still had open tunnels and huge dump from the blasting and removal from the tunnels. Did some metal detecting and worked old tailing piles and in dry washes. Good times.

Lot of old history there and I was lucky enough to see and be involved in some of it before USFS tore down, filled in, hauled off or burned what was left. Old headframes, etc.

Made a prospecting trip to Feather River in northern California back in the mid 90's and did some high banking and digging in a pay site. Roamed the hills and visited some of the old hydraulic mining locations. Did a small amount of sniping and mossing. It has become such a pain to be able to do things like that now due to further regulations on prospector types that pretty much makes it not worth the effort.

When I was working in Nevada several years ago I got to go to an old mining town back in the mountains. It was really cool to see. It took an hour and a half in a jeep to get there. I have pics from the mining operation relics that was at the base of the mountains.

There is a State Park in Arkansas and another in Colorado that people travel to just to go " mining " . I have had friends go to both and find a little . . .
