I've used H335 for years with best results. Win 748 is my second choice.
25.5 to 26.5 grs. work for 50 to 55 gr bullets. Play with them to see what yours likes.
One is gun I use is a Rem 700 24", 1/12 twist and the other is a Bushmaster 24" 1/9" twist.

My bullets were touching today at the range. I was shooting too 100 yards. Ruger 556E 16 inch barrel 1/9 Twist. Also there was very little barrel juimp. Very smooth shooting.

      Accurate 2015 23.0
      Nosler Varmageddon 55 Gain
      2.260 seat depth.
      Primer CCI 400
      I did crimp the shell

75 is a little heavy for a 1:9. It's better suited for a 1:7. But I know people that shoot heavier bullets out of their 1:9. I usually only go up to 62 to 69 in a 1:9 barrel

I agree with Ike. 1:9 won't stabilize a 75gr. Bullet length is to long. 70gr tops for 1:9.

Now my gun shoots better with a hornday 45 cal hp 230gr bullet using a 8.5 load using blue dot. Going to start loading a Stevens Savage 200 - 270 cal, now factory bullets it jumps every where shooting a 130gr corelock bullet but same brand and style bullet using 150gr it holds tight groups not sure why... So I will be loading 270 cal rounds with 150 gr bullets may try some different style of bullets to see what works and found a good load. Want to use Hodgdon Powder Company H1000 looks like a good powder. Anyone got some good ideas?
very likely the twist is wrong,, it may be a faster twist than the 130 likes,, but i would try a completly different style of bullet,, maybe a longer boattail style,, also a different powder can change things up to,, for what its worth,, i found corelocks to be the worst bullet made,, period,,,,, ive been reloading for 32 years so its not guess work..

                This is a great thread.....

Im shooting Barnes TSX 62gr bullets with 24grs of Varget shooting in a 1:9 it works great and kills hogs dead at any distance. the problem is that i cant get any Varget. Bluelund79 (TBH) Eric picked me up some the other day(great guy) but we only live about 200 miles apart.
I tried some H335 because Nosler says its the best in 55gr bullets but it was not good in the no lead 62 grains it was 2 inch groups. but I have heard that it is as good or better than Varget in 55 gr loads.

In fact I'll go shoot some that I loaded right now! I tell you how it goes....

75 BTHP match just like posted above. These will shoot in some 1:9" twist barrels. They shoot great in my 1:9 16" AR barrel.

                  24gr Varget
                  75 BTHP match
CCI small rifle or FED GMM small rifle primer
                  LC brass

Velocity out of an AR platform is about 2,400-2,500 fps.

They will work in 1:9.....depends on if you get lucky and your 1:9 will shoot them.

Mine 1:9 shoots the 75 bthp match 1/2 MOA, but my friend has a similar AR platform with a 1:9 and they wont group in his.

                          I just shot 5 24gr Varget V-Max 55gr and it shot 2753 fps avg
                          then I shot
                          5 25gr H335, Nosler 55gr ballistic Tip. 3106 fps avg

the bottom 5 shots are Varget the others are H335. the one in the top of the Bull was my fault the other hole has 4 shots the bull is the size of a nickel

Varget shoots great with bigger than 55 gr bullets and H335 does not shoot the bigger bullets well but it is awesome on 55gr.

I was getting a steady supply from Natchez but seems they are all dried up. Think I'm down to 50 or so but I have 150 loaded up. I've honestly found that to be my go to bullet followed by the Nosler ballistic Tip 55gr and 50gr. There is a small shop by me that is full of the Nosler.
What's funny about all this is I have found what I consider to be my dream loads for .223 and now I'm going to start playing with other powders. Haven't found much lately and I'm trying to hold on to my H335 and 748 (why, I have no clue) I have a pound of Alliant 10X....we'll see what it does.
