A little FYI for anyone wanting to track blood

Over 18 yrs of bow only and countless hunting friends allowing me to join in the celebration of the bllod trail, I pride myself in my ability to track wounded animals and will exhaust all efforts to recover a squirrel if I shoot one. To the point now where I am in the process of training a dog to help for the greater Wood Co. area.

In my research I have found that a whitetail deer must loose.....1 1/2 q of blood die. Now I realise that alot (most) will stay in body cavity, but how much blood is that?

    I collected a lot of blood today...and layed a 80-100yrd trail.

Pay attention: I filled a 12cc seringe (thats a very small cattle seringe) with blood. I have bleed that much and not thought about a band-aid, and was able to PAINT a blood trail that Stevie Wonder could follow for 75 yrs EASY!!!!!

So next time yout tracking and think "#^*@ he cant go much farther" stop and think about the actual amount of blood vs. shot placement.

Im new to this blood tracking job, but have wore out boots on blood trails. 1 1/2 q is a ton of blood

As a BOWHUNTER, this is why shot placment is vital.

If I cut your arm off, you WILL die....but how far can you flee before death?

If I cut off all forms of breathing.....you aint runnin far? PERIOD!

I've tracked deer that haven't bled a drop and piled up within 10 feet.

Tracked deer that bled a ton and made it 200 yards

            Every shot is different
