    Corn auger

Has anyone used one of these? If so what are your thoughts? The specs say it will transfer about 100 lbs a minute and has a 10yr warranty. It is a little pricy but the cost will be spread among all our lease members.

I think it is because of the name of the auger. Here is a picture.

I saw that at TTHA in fort worth this year, did some looking on the internet and couldnt really find anything bad or good. The good part is it doesnt have to many moving parts, so it should be good.

Yep, I have one. Works like a champ. I got tired of hand throwing corn and protein. Set it up, dump in the hopper and it works great.

Saw this online as well as was interested. BT does it live up to the 100# per minute claim? Would love to see some pics of it in action if anybody has any.

To be honest I haven't put a timer to it, but I'd have to say it does what it says or very close to it. I can fill 1000# corn it seems like in about 15 minutes or so and that's me taking my time dumping the bags in the hopper. Does just as well on the 2k protein feeders as well.

Thanks for the feed back. Im going to buy one in the next month or so when I go by Mummies. If you go to their website they have a video of the setup and operation. It looks like it moves the corn pretty fast into the feeder.

I'm getting up in years and don't like climbing ladders with a sack of corn on my shoulder, so my feeders are all winch-up models. Don't think I could make myself pay $899 for this tool.

Not this exact one but have used a grain auger for years. On the one in the ad, I would be watchful of the plastic tube. Corn can be pretty abrasive and wear out the inside to where corn would slip by the auger fins.

It is way better than shoveling corn though.
