    Anyone a field compressor mechanic?

          They make good money but unless your on a hitch you will work alot and more then likely be on call 24/7. Land or offshore?

            Land. I'm ok with working a ton. Used to working long hours and lots of overtime in my current job.

            I'm mostly wondering what kind of pay rate/salary to ask for. I don't know if it pays hourly, salary, or if it's even negotiable yet, but transitioning out of the military, I have no idea how to negotiate pay and I don't want to under sell myself.

              Will you start out as a helper or are you a full blown mechanic? Offshore it's a little different because we have field mechanics on the payroll but there are times we have to call in others and they get paid 18 hours a day plus driving time. And if they ride the boat out with the equipment then it's around the clock. I know Power House was offering $18 hr for helpers and once you knew what you where doing and how to trouble shoot they would send you out as a mechanic and the pay increased.
