    "BOW" Shooting with glasses.

Who has a problem shooting with glasses? I just started wearing them about 6 months ago and am having "issues"... The frames get in the way and it also seems things go out of focus after about 30 seconds. My biggest issue is the frames though. I was thinking a shorter draw would help. What say the GS ??

I had to adjust my sights when going from contacts to glasses. Seems like everything shifted over

I wear contacts. But I cant shhot with galsses anymore. I actually shoot a longer draw with glasses to allow me to anchor on the side of my nose vs. tip. (yea you can just bend elbow more, but thats even more acward to me).

I honestly dont know how I shot with glasses for so many years, its a pain in the @^!% now

I never though about it. I might look into contacts. That might be the answer right there.

One option is Knobloch shooting glasses. I am going to get my son a pair because he has the same issue and he is a little young (I think) for contacts.
They are not cheap but they are made for this problem.

I have used glasses without issue but I guess my anchor point doesn't pose a problem?

It did make my pin a bit blurry and target clear.

The only time glasses are a problem for me is when the sun finally reaches me. I can still shoot with them on now just have to get them to cooperate.

Contacts are the way to go. Then go get Lasik and be done with contacts and glasses!

I can't shoot with glasses on at all. Always take them off to hunt and to shoot 3d. I have only had glasses for 2-3 yrs now. My wife has had glasses all her life and has no issues shooting with them. I guess its what you learn to deal with.

                            .

I had this same problem bad as I wear progressives with small lenses. I finally went to Santa Fe archery and they increased my peep size and this all but fixed the problem. I have experimented with a set of readers as I have the same problem with shooting pistols. It really sucks as I used to be an exceptional shot and now I am just average. Readers let me focus on the sight and the target is blurry but I can can shoot a pretty good group If I pick out on blurry spot...lol

I've shot both but mostly with glasses and found my issues were my eyes and when I went to, dare I say, progressive (tri-focal) lenses - the problem cleared up. If it's not your actual vision at different distances, you might play with adding a d-loop if you don't shoot one and see if this helps too.....just a thought but let us vision impaired folks know what works for you if you figure it out...good luck
