Still running down south??

I'm headed down to Laredo tomorrow for my last hunt for the year. I haven't been there in almost 2 weeks and when I left the bucks were still running. Is it still on down there or nearing the end?

It's nearing the end... but there's always a 2nd wave the 1st couple weeks of January. Had a mature buck come chasing does behind the house Sunday morning. However, my hunts showed more bucks coming to corn and not really chasing does.

They are still pushing in starr Casey...it seems we have a trickle rut every year from Christmas to the end of the season??

Really strange...some of us will see them just nibbling corn and doing their thing and another blind will have the Benny Hill chasing sceen going on, but with deer. I would not hesitate to rattle if it appears quiet.

Yeah I have not done any rattling yet this year at the lease so I may try that.

This is exactly what we've experienced on our place in Starr county for the last few years. Not sure exactly what's going on there.

I'm headed to my McMullen lease tomorrow, I hope they are still responding to horns.

Headed back to Laredo tomorrow. Last weekend, mature bucks only in afternoon and they were just eating. The 3.5 year olds were still chasin though.

There running hard at our lease in Laredo. I had a few respond to horns this morning. This guy came in hot on a doe it took three whoops and a grunt call to get his attention.
