Anyone out there using them and how do you like them? Have a FNAR that I would like to mount an illuminated recticle scope on and have been looking at these. Mostly a low light/night hunting hog scope. Would I be better of with one of the VX-R's or a VX-L with the Illuminated recticle? Undecided on 40 or 50mm. All thoughts and experience welcomed.

I have a VX-3 1.5-5x20mm with the illuminated duplex on my AR. This reticle is awesome - the little "plus sign" floats in the middle of the crosshairs. I like it even better than the 4A in my Swarovski. They offer a VX3 in a 3.5-10x50mm but it's close to a grand. The VX-R scopes offer the Firedot reticle - I didn't like that reticle nearly as well.

I have a vxr 4-12 cds on my 340 wby and it has been a great scope so far. Its hunted in alaska and texas so far and i havent had any issues. i like the one touch to tun it on versus having to click around something like on other models. also the auto off feature is nice. i have been considering adding the 1.25-4 model to my turkey/predator shotgun,

I have the 3-9x40. For some odd reason it messed up on me this year & ALMOST cost me the biggest deer of my life. I was looking thru it but everything was blurry except for a 1/4" outer ring. I haven't the faintest idea why it did this. It was clear for about 5 minutes(watching him in the feeder pen) & when he jumped out it got really blurry. Lucky the deer came closer & it cleared up but I couldn't see anything thru it for about 1 min. Reticle was turned off, zoom on 5, about 60 degrees, low humidity, 10-15 mph wind. Any ideas why this would happen?
