How long, deer meat on ice?

My daughter killed a couple deer over the weekend & it looks like the meat will have to sit in the ice chest for a while until I can get to it. I have taken care of two hams already but will not have time for the rest until next Sunday, as we are packing up our house to move.
So, how long have y'all left deer meat on ice before finally taking care of it & freezing it?

Good ice chest 10 days no problem. 14 may be the longest I have kept any. I keep the plug open to drain blood. I add ice as the level drops.

I usually leave mine in a good cooler for 7 days before processing. Drain plug with screen on it open to drain water/blood. Add ice to keep meat covered as needed.

Been doing the add ice & drain thing but wondered about the length of time.
          Thanks.

I've done 7-10 days on ice and the meat was great.

I wouldn't go a whole lot over 10 days personally. But, don't take that as gospel.

I should be able to get back at it next Sunday.

I was worried about that earlier in the season, had a doe on ice for about 6 days, donated the meat and they said it was fine. I thought it might have been in there for too long, good to see these responses. I too kept draining bloody water and adding ice but the meat looks weird when the color drains from it, I guess it's just the blood.

I've been wondering as well. I have mine in big zip-lock bags and drain blood every other day. I just dont like the looks of white meat. Do some of you do the same? I also live in an apartment and dont want to leave my friends Yeti outside I have two small hams and backstraps(which barely bleed from what I see so far) and some scrap meat in another.

Yep, that's just the blood draining out of the meat.
