Man, this is very bad news. I hate to hear this. I hope he's fully recovered by the time the season starts. He's fun to watch do work.

Sounds like great news for him!! You see what Adrian Peterson did after his surgery.

pretty sure this is gonna get ugly between Dr Andrews , Shanahan, and D Snyder

RG3 probably shouldn't have played after the initial injury and Andrews did NOT clear him to re-enter the game

Your right Kevin... he is plenty fun to watch.. I sure was afraid all season that this would happen. And when he took that hit a few weeks ago and the knee laterally hyper extended i knew it wasnt good. Not sure if it torn then or in his last game but a tear isnt good. Especially for a dual treat qb.

Better get AD Pettersons surgeon bc what ever he did to that knee worked!!!

As much as I dislike Dallas, I agree. I would much rather have seen Dallas win and RG3 not have caused further damage. It was obvious in the last game though. He had a few throws that were 5-8 yrds short on the turf because he couldnt push off that leg at all.

James Andrews is widely known as the greatest orthopedic surgeon in the world

he is also the WASH team surgeon and did AP's surgery last year

he never gave the OK for RG3 to go back into the game

Andrews said he was a "nervous wreck" watching Griffin play hurt

Shanahan put RG3's career in jeopardy by allowing him to play on a bad knee

I hope for the best for RGIII. He is exciting to watch and a great guy from what I have heard. Hope for a full recovery like petterson. He is fun to watch.

AP is a physical freak of nature and we aren't likely to see someone come back from that type of injury and have that kind of a comeback season for a LONG time, if ever. It just doesn't normally happen....usually takes one full year to approach 100% and its more likely to be the following season before they are where they were before the injury.

I hope for RGIII's sake that he can come back and be ok. There was no sense risking long term injury in his rookie season for a mediocre team with no chance at a championship. I remember when Dirk hurt his knee during the playoff series against San Antonio, I think it was the Western Conference Finals, and Cuban said no way to letting Dirk play through the injury while he was still young and really just blossoming. It's never worth it IMO.

RG3 flies to B'ham tomorrow for additional examinations and diagnostic testing by Andrews

I think the news will get worse before it gets better regarding the knee

FWIW - Dr. Andrews did my younger brothers shoulder/rotator cuff surgery back in 1992 . He was the team physician for TROY STATE

Dr. Andrews performs many of our players surgeries. One of the best
