Party at Simek's House

I want to extend an invite to any TBH folks that find themselves in the vicinity of Leander, TX on Saturday night to a St. Patty's day party that we're throwing at my house. I'm not Irish, but my wife is, and she feels the need to celebrate her Irish heritage each year by making her Sunday miserable a la hangover.

At any rate, we'll have the usual (keg, party food and shot block) for any of those that want to come out and socialize. For those of you that have not seen a shot block, see pic below.



If you're interested in directions, just shoot me PM. This is a child friendly event, but you may not want your child to see you or I like we may end up, so, it's probably best if you left them at home.

I hate to ask this but I still don't know what a shot block is? Can you explain this pic?

The shot block is simply a large block of ice with dimensions of approximately 48"x18"x8" into which a channel has been grooved into the ice. NASA engineers were brought in to construct a shot block stand to hold the block at the proper angle to facilitate gravity flow of various liquids into the mouths of eager shot takers. There is actually a place in Austin on Burnet Rd where one can, if so inclined, procure said block.

Tim, the block weighs approximately 75-80#. It takes a disciplined drinker many months of consistently working out to build up to the shot block. Many men have been injured in front of gawking onlookers only to be shamed for life by not giving the shot block the respect it deserves . . .
