CDL How to get experience

My brother in law got his CDL and everywhere he has applied they want him to have at least 1 year driving experience. He has had a physical and a drug test and has no traffic violation. How does he get his foot into a company? He lives in San Antonio and has a family so his driving would have to be out of San Antonio.

Lowes, Home Depot, cement company, gravel hauler company

With a big company he may have to either go through there training program or to a school with them paying for it n then running in team etc. i learned on a log truck! You drive a little n learn mainly when your a kid then they turn u loose!

That's how I had to do it at lowes sucks but they hire with no experience

Try local farmers. I worked at a distribution center drivin a yard dog movin trailers around an to and from the dock doors. Did this for almost two yrs while also drivin for a local farmer haulin grain. That's somewhere to start.

Beer distributer. Hard work but they're always hireing. They usually don't care about experience, they just need licensed drivers.

we have a couple of friends that make a pretty good living off of U-ship

Tell him to check with the oilfield service companies or water haulers. He will get a years experience in about 4 months

Beverage company is gonna be the easiest. If he gets a few years experience tell him to go to work for HEB. Great company

Beer or soda distributer, or he can put in some time in the oil field. Everyone in the Eagle Ford is hiring CDL drivers.
