    Best 10x42 Binocs Under $100

I need to pick up some cheap binocs for a trip I have coming up. Something good, and preferably NOT bulky. I have $50, and might be able to get closer to $100 for these, but that's the most I could possibly do(many other MUCH more important need items at this time) . I understand that they won't be on par with the big money glasses, but I can have cheap taste when I need it!

I was looking at these, as I've been impressed with Bushnell stuff for the money a few times before...

Any help would be MUCH appreciated, and if anyone has any they'd sell me cheap...I'd be willing to go that route as well!

    Thanks.

Check out wingsupply.com on the right side select closeouts then optics. They have 10x42 Brunton'sfor 39.99 right now. I bought the same pair from them a month ago for 49.99.They're great I compared them to the burris, busnell and others before christmas at academy and I liked those the best. Plus at you'll get to keep some change in your pocket and it won't cost another 50.00 in gas to go looking for some. If you do get them and don't like them contact me and I'll take buy them from you. Just a thought.

Guess I need to run by Academy again and check those Brunton's out, and check their Bushnell supply as well.

Find a good used pair on eBay or CraigsList.org. I thnk binos are the most important piece of equipment a hunter can own, and therefore warrant spending the money on a good pair. Post a want ad on some of the hunting sites. many hunters have more than one pair collecting dust.

This thread got me to looking and found that there are some major difference in some of the Brunton binocs. Some are cheaply made pieces of junk and others are a decent product. I wouldn't want to buy a pair online but would think seriously about a pair if I could go into the store and check them out.

I am always looking to buy on the cheap even though I have many high priced items in both fishing and hunting. I have had some $1,000 Leupold Gold Ring binocs and also some $12 Tascos.

The Leupold's are awesome. I however usually carry the Tasco and some Bushnell binocs into the stand. I have a pair of Bushnell binocs that look like the same model that you showed in your first post. If they are the same ones, I have two years on them and so far they are still solid and very clear. They are plenty good enough for finding game within my range (I am not shooting 400 yards-they may even be good at that range but I haven't really tested them out that far). The tiny pair of Tascos that I use have been through two hunting seasons and cost about $15 at Wal-Mart. If they had lasted a single 4 month hunting season and broke, I would have been satisfied. Compared to the cost of $1,000 for the Leupold's, I could buy a pair of Tasco binocs for the next 70 years and still break even.

I love great optics and have some but nothing wrong with a decent pair of cheapies if they will do what you want them to.

As far as the Leupold Wind River binocs, the guy that I usually hunt with has had a pair for three years. Great binoculars.... and they have been back to the factory twice in that time frame. I am sure that they will go back before this upcoming season. Leupold has very good products (I have a couple of their scopes) and they have a butt kicking customer service and warranty. That does not apparently equate to a defect free product however. If I break my $15 Tasco or $50 Bushnell binocs (after two years +), I will just get another pair.

                    i would go with tmag...
i know you were looking at something under a hundred bucks, but $20 more for leupolds would be a good investment...

                    just my.02...
