Good place to buy 2 3/8" pipe (used)

Wanting about 300' for some fencing. Anybody know a good place to get used pipe. My dad used to get some out of Louisiana? There has to be some around the dfw area? I believe it was old drill pipe?

Just make sure it is not PVC lined. I bought some cheap several years ago and was to dumb to know better. Was a nightmare cutting and welding. Probably took several years off my life. Good Luck.

I have several hundred feet of boiler tube about that size. It has lots of scale on it and you have to buff it off before cutting. Also thinner wall than oilfield pipe. I used several hundred feet as line posts and bracing when I rebuilt my fences after the wildfire. PM me if interested. The tube is in San Angelo.

Just make sure its not hot, I had a friend pick up some pipe a few weeks ago really cheap, well it was REALLY HOT, radioactive ..

But from what I'm told it happens pretty often with naturally occurring radioactive materials.

My dad has full joints, they about 30yrs old but still wraped in the tar wrapping the used back when, Nock the sealing off and it looks like brand new pipe, joints are 39' long, not sure what he wants a joint. But I may be about 6hrs to far out of the way.

Did your buddy report it? Texas has a law that all NORM must be remediated to less than 25 uR
Louisiana and the rest of the USA have the limit at 50uR. So depending on where he bought it it may or may not be an issue.

How did he find out it was hot? Has it been measured?

A LOT of used oil field pipe (Most, actually) has some amount of NORM on it. Norm is not very dangerous unless the levels are pretty dang high.
