10/22 barrels

I am building a 10/22 which barrel do I want to stay away from/want. I want stainless flutted barrel but what brand.

I have a Butler Creek on mine and it shoots about 1/4" groups at 25yds with decent ammo. I put a fluted pink Tac-Sol aluminum ( steel liner ) on my wifes and she loves it. I havent spent as much time with it on the bench as mine but I dont think it shoots quite as good as the Butler Creek.

I have a volquartsen carbon fiber barrel on mine. It will hold an inch at 100y with some good ammo and an inch and a quarter with cheap stuff.

Always heard good things about Clarks, Kidd and Green Mountain. Just what I've heard though, haven't had to money to put into the .22's to speak from experience...... yet!

My dad has a Clark barrel on his 10/22 and it is amazing as well.

Other than looks stick with factory barrel.... My factory barrel on a 5 shot group will out shoot my VQ barrel all day long.

Agreed! Im not that lucky. My factory barrel wouldnt shoot better than an inch an 25yds, on a good day.

That seems to be the response from everyone...but @100yrds I can cover 5 shots with a quarter every time and a nickle most of the time with my factory barrel my VQ will not do it on 5 shots...I know that sounds far fetched but I have done it time and time again.

I have three different 10/22 setups all with different green mountain barrels. That's my choice brother

I've been really happy with my green mtn. Shoots really well and it's the only .920 barrel I could find with open sights mounted.
