    Deer with prolapsed butt 0

Serious question as hard as it is to type without getting the @*#$& symbols. Will a deer recover if its butt 0 is protruding outwards. We have a 3.5 year old 8 with a broke g3 that was getti g a pass but then he showed infront of a hunter with what he thinks is a prolapse. I am hunting that stand this evening to get a looksie. What are y'all's thoughts?

Hmmm tough one. I would imagine he would make it but I am not an expert.

That's what I was thinking. After he gets it worked out it will return to normal ????

I'm no expert but I can't see him surviving that without surgery. I would suggest a sharp knife, and remove all organs before skinning and quartering.

                  quit feeding pea gravel Shayne!

I wouldnt think if it is real bad that he will live but maybe it is not as bad as what I am thinking. Infection and a cold snap could be the end of him.

I don't think its by any means normal, it doesnt happen to most deer. Shoot it!

He may suck it back in. Dart him and stitch it. Other than that may stay out and die from impaction or infection. Got me never seen a deer do it.

I don't know, but I can tell you how to fix it......

When I was in high school, one of my show pigs had the same problem. I took him to the vet. Vet had me hold the hog upside down by the back legs so he could work on him. He poked everything that was sticking out back in where it was supposed to be (bare hand, no gloves), and then he got a BIG sewing needle out. He used a cotton shoe lace and stitched all the way around the pig's hoo-hoo to secure it in place. He told me that by the time the shoe lace rotted out, the pig's hoo-hoo would be healed up.

                            It worked.

Hoping he doesn't hang it jumping the fence. That's why I am hunting here I never give up my stand but want to see it
