I got to thinking about the bases for private schools..most that I could come up with were religion based. Do you think we will get to a point where a school would be politically based ? Just a thought. Maybe stupid I don't know.

Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, United States, is a co-educational liberal arts college known for being the first American college to prohibit in its charter all discrimination based on race, religion, or sex;[2] for its refusal to accept government funding; and for its monthly publication, Imprimis, with a circulation of over 2.6 million.[3] National Review has described Hillsdale as a "citadel of American conservatism."[4][5]
Hillsdale College (founded 1844) has long been considered a major player in the history and development of American conservatism, a reputation that became most noticeable during the 1970s and continues to the present.[6][7] Most of the curriculum is based on and centered around the teachings of the Western heritage as a product of both the Greco-Roman culture and the Judeo-Christian religion. These, in turn, encompass their view of the principles of the American Founding and the college's academic emphasis on such, especially in relation to its own founding. Hillsdale is among the few non-military colleges in the United States that require every student, regardless of major, to study the U.S. Constitution as a core requirement.[8] Additionally, prominent conservative theorist Russell Kirk had a substantial career there and allowed Hillsdale to inherit many of his original writings.[9] The college houses and displays the personal library of Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises as well.[10] Hillsdale College has been featured as a conservative institution by Young Americans for Freedom[11] and the Heritage Foundation.[12]
More than 1,400 students attend Hillsdale from 47 states, the District of Columbia, and eight foreign countries. The college employs 124 full-time faculty members.[13] Hillsdale offers a variety of liberal arts majors, pre-professional programs, a teacher education program, and a journalism certificate program. Located in south-central Michigan, United States, its 200 acre campus contains multiple instructional and office buildings, thirteen residence halls, six fraternity and sorority houses, an athletic complex, music hall, arts center, conference center, hotel, preschool, and an arboretum.[14] Hillsdale College also manages Hillsdale Academy, a private K-12 liberal arts school.[15]

I'm sure the % has increased towards the liberal side in the last 7 yrs
The "elite colleges" have the highest percentage of libs .... been that way for decades . You would not want to sit in and listen to a Humanities or Social Sciences professor lecture on American values. You'd probably get escorted out of class by campus police
very few conservatives in higher education .... that's why our Country has shifted to the Left . Young college grads have no clue how America was founded and the beliefs of our fore-fathers
The current generation of kids want free handouts , and the government rewards them for doing absolutely NOTHING

My kids have gone to Abilene Christian schools since kindergarten. Morgan is a senior this year, and Zach is a freshman. Morgan will go to Abilene Christian University next year. We intended for her stay at ACS to be kindergarten only, but we really fell in love with the school. It seems like yesterday when we enrolled her in kindergarten, and now she's about to graduate. The Christian atmosphere has been awesome. The school, like every other school, has it flaws and drawbacks too. But it's been an overwhelmingly net positive experience for her and us. Not cheap, but worth it to us.
Oh, and it's not the focus, but the teachers and administrators at ACS are generally pretty conservative politically (not all of them, but the vast majority). So you kinda get that as a side benefit in most religious private schools. ACU has a lot more liberal profs these days than 20 years ago, but still majority conservative.
By the way, our guys have done well in football the last few years, and we've faced Bulverde Bracken Christian in the playoffs the last couple of years. We barely beat them in 2011 in the state semi-finals, and then we were able to beat them again this year in the game before the semis. Zach got to start at QB that game. It was fun for our family. We play 6-man, due to the small size of our schools. Good stuff.
