    Large wood Chipper

Anyone have any experience with or have a large wood chipper stand alone or 3 pt.

I want to chip a bunch of wood instead of burning.

I am either going to rent one ($400) for the weekend or bite the bullet and buy one. I see 3 pt chippers new from about $2000 up.

I have not seen many used ones for sale.

I have been looking at them as well....but I'b rather not put hours on the tractor to chip limbs......a b&s engine is way cheaper to replace....

Owning a tree service, I can tell you to simply just rent a 12" chipper and be done with it. Be safe and sure how to use it as many, many experienced tree workers have been drug through a chipper with not one bit of recognizable body part at the end.

Tractor is the way to go. The tractor is made to last many more hours than us part time farmers will ever put on one in a lifetime.

A b&s engine is just one more engine to do PM work on and hope it works the twice a year you need it.
