    Jerky pointers

    I have my jerky marinated. I have it on the dehydrator. It is cut 1/4 to 3/8 thick. About how long should I leave it in the dehydrator so it is not "crispy"?

    It depends on your dehydrator and how much meat you have on it, but it will take about 8 hours.

      I do ten hours but I like mine crunchy... Try 8

          I have 7 trays with about 4 lbs of meat amongst them. It is not a big dehydrator. I have not made any in several years. Thanks for the times.

            No matter how even I cut it it isn't all ready at once. I start checking it at about 7 hours and take off what is ready and check it hourly until it is all ready but I use a fairly cheap plastic dehydrator from Academy. It makes great jerky though.

              This is a cheap one as well. I may have to swing by the house while I'm on duty tonight to check in on it.
