Getting My Hands on Wildlife Print

While perusing the vendors at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, my wife and I found a wildlife/landscape print that we love. We had seen it years ago but never did anything to attempt to purchase one. Well, now we are ready to try and get this but as luck would have it, we can't find one. We could pick up the one at the Rodeo as it was for sale, but the frame is not something we would want and buying it to scrap the frame and reframe ourselves might be a bit foolish.

Does anyone have a suggestion for finding a discontinued print, canvas or other fine representation of a particular artist's work?

The piece for which we're looking is called "The Wise One" and it was done by James Robinson.

      Emailed them, Cletus.

The other prints they have on the site have a "Click to Order" button. This one does not. I gotta find one of these.

Butch Kissman at HAKCO. I can get you his # Wednesday. He's got an office in Houston. If he doesn't have one he can tell you who does.

That is a tough one Casey. Found it several times but all discontinued. Sorry.

            Karl,
I've talked to the dude at Hakco in the past. His number would be very much appreciated.

Just got you PM, Karl. You are the man. I'll call tomorrow. I can't remember what I talked to him about in the past, but I remember the name.

If anyone else can provide insight, I would really appreciate it!

Beautiful picture Casey. I'd like to have one of those myself. I have a couple of Drinkard's and Cowan's. Ragan Gennusa has some nice work as well.

                Cull,
We've looked at a lot of them. My wife is a fan of this one because it's a nice balance of wildlife and landscape. I like it because it looks like the area around our Coryell County farm.

I'm hoping I can find one!

Try Charlie's Gallery in Spring. They specialize in outdoor/wildlife art like Cowan, Dearman, etc. If they don't have it they might be able to help you locate it.

                      Casey,
Try Whistle Pik Gallery in Fredericksburg...they handle James' originals and may be able to help you. Google their website. James lives near Austin and may have even have an "artist proof" he would sell.
                      Good luck...he's a great artist.

Casey, check this place in Dallas. It used to be owned by Bubba Woods (maybe still is), and he is the authority on wildlife art in Dallas/Highland Park. The phone # and email address is on the website.

Welcome to the new Collectors Covey, serving Dallas since 1978. We offer an extraordinary collection of Sporting and Wildlife Art.

Naw, not since I moved to East Texas 19 years ago. I lived in Dallas for 20 years and used to frequent the store occasionally. Plus, Bubba always supported the Ducks Unlimited banquets and the Dallas Woods and Waters club events. He was an avid hunter and could afford to hunt all over the world. It was said that his father used to be one of the largest owners of Texaco stock.
