    Warthog

Anyone use the warthog knife sharpener and how do u like it? Does anyone have any other sharpeners they prefer?

my buddy has one and he likes it. it can get a knife sharp. I bought the worksharp as I think its easier to use and I get a scary sharp edge. Nothing wrong with the hog though

I have the warthog and prefer it to the worksharp because it moves less metal...I think you oversharpen with the worksharp if you are not really careful...it is so easy to keep passing the blade thru the slot untill it hits the magic pass.....

How do you sharpen a knife that has a serrated edge on the end and a regualr edge above it like the gerber knives

It's all I use and all my buddies bring me their knives for me to sharpen. Fast and easy, for me at least.

Does it do both the edges that are on the same knife?

I have a Warthog. The first time you use it, you have to make sure you stay with it long enough to properly set the bevel on each knife. After that it is quick and easy. About once a month I use it to touch-up all the kitchen knives - just a few swipes on the diamonds rods, then a few swipes on the steels is all it takes.

If I'm following you yes. One stone will do serrated portion then you will have to change stones for the "smooth" part.
