    Mr Heater problem

My Mr Heater will not light. The pilot light will not stay on. What do I need to do to fix it. I have only run the one pound cylinders through it. Thanks.

Open a paper clip and slid in and out of the gas tube a couple times.
After turning the gas off, of course
    Then try to relight.
Worked for me a time or two.

I had the same problem with mine Christmas day, I ended up leaning it over so the pilot would heat up holding the button for a while. It seemes like it had to build pressure up then after about 30 minutes of playing on and off with it, heat.

Not sure if it was wet because of the rain or dirty, but I sure was glad when it started working.

I just bought a new one because the pilot wouldn't stay lit. I may tinker with it and see if I can fix it.

Hold the button down for a minute or two and let the flame heat up the tip. It will burn off the crap that is keeping it from staying let. When it is really cold, I have to do it anyway. Sort of like warming up a vehicle. Very common...

If that doesn't do it, you may have a spider or something down in the gas line restricting gas flow. I had to take mine apart to remove one last year and it worked like a champ.

x2 seems like sometimes I have to hold the button in to get the pilot to stay lit

I must have a clog. I have held the button down for a long time several times and the pilot still will not stay burning.

Thanks JP. paper clip did the trick. Hoping I was not going to have to take it apart. Thanks Smart. That would have been my next step.

No problem. I have to hold my igniter in longer sometimes too but mostly its just the tube needs a good clean opening.
just dont push the paper clip so hard you go thru the side of the tube.

Take a pair of needle nose pliers and adjust the gas tube till it fixes that. Just dont crush the tube trying to bend it.
