I'm really not sure that you need the "special" paint from the big box sporting goods stores. I have camo'd fiberglass boats and jeeps but it's not that different than a canoe...I always used automotive quality paint thats available anywhere...there are millions of different colors out there on cars and stores that specialize in that market for body shops..As someone else pointed out, getting a good base coat is essential...pick your background color, prep the metal (clean, fine grit sand, etc), and then get your base coat down. After that sets up then use a small airbrush (you can buy them at hobby lobby or e-bay) to lay down your camo on top of your base coat..
