My financier finally gave the nod to get a totally unnecessary toy for my combo Christmas & birthday present just when Barry O gives his stump speech. Although I would really like to have one, I refuse to pay double price for an AR platform rifle. I'm game to make even a 300mile drive to get one from Alvin, but there better be a good BBQ joint nearby. So far even in Clute the prices are X2+. A Bushmaster XM15 E2S went from $899 to $1295 to $1995. For these prices maybe the crack dealers will start selling theirs. Alright I give up... guess I'll play the waiting game.

if a roit breaks out no question which one I would grab to climb up on the roof

Joe's used to be great but his son started it on a downward spiral. Sad but Rudy's chain BBQ beats them now. I'll ride Harley to East Bernard to Vincek's Smokehouse any day for a sliced brisket sandwich.

Even the M1A's have gone through the roof, if you can find one. I was thinking the same thing and started looking, thank god I already have mine. OP you can still get AR's at Academy but you have to be there first thing in the morning and ask, they may or may not have one and can't be picky on brand but it's their normal pricing, or at least has been.

You can still build one yourself if you spend some time on the net and do your homework. I have one in works that will be better quality thean the bushmaster and cost under $750. All parts bought in the last 6 days. Now my upper wont be here till the end of janurary but everything else will be in hand by this weekend
