Any ideas on removing odor from 55gal plastic barrel?

I picked up a couple of those blue 55gal plastic barrels for water storage at the new deer lease. They had car wash soap in them. Will not drink water from them, but would like to take a shower and not smell like a freshly washed car. So far I have rinsed with water and then let sit with a heavy ratio of bleach to water. There better, but still can smell the soap. If any has a idea of how to eliminate the odor, I would most appreciative.

Pour straight bleach and place in the sun for a couple weeks. This should do it.

Put a skunk in each one and seal it up for a month. You will never smell the soap again! =)

Fill a sock with some activated charcoal (used for fish tank filters). Tie the sock w/ a tie wrap and drop in the barrel.

Yep, I would try the baking soda. Make a paste a scrub it around a little bit over the interior surface. Let sit for a few hours, then rinse with hot water (if you can). That should help.

get some consan triple action 20. I used it for lots of stuff and it really works. I had a freezer go out one time full of shrimp, and I tried just about everything with not much luck, until someone told me about this stuff. I think I got it a feed store, but Home Depot or Lowes ect... may carry it too.
