video/digital guys..help

Any of you video/digital guys know how or where I can get a video clip from VHS to a digital source, preferably a CD?? I'm on the East side of San
Antonio, near Randolf AFB, and would rather not have to send this video tape out, as it is not replaceable and very important to me. Thanks.

i have a pinnacle media thingy where i plug it in to my computer and then plug in the vcr into the pinnacle media and record it to my computer...you can buy this from best buy for like 100 bucks atleast thats what i bought it for...i use this for my video camera also..

Find a friend with a digital camcorder. Hook up video cables from video out on VHS machine to Video in on camcorder. Push play on VHS and record on camcorder.

the 'media thingy' is an analog>digital converter. VHS is an analog format while putting it to your hard drive, CD, DVD is a digital process and must be converted.
You can do the double process like Sully recommended: record it first to your digital camera then from there to your hard drive.
It's a weird deal but it does work.

Thanks for the replies. I don't own a camera, or know anyone that does, so I might have to get the "media thingy" at BestBuy. The VHS tape is a copy that was burned for me by a buddy back east. I was just hoping to find a local video service that could do it for me.
