    Lets talk Scopes

Going on a new 30-06. I have a Nikon 3x9x50 that I really like on my other 30-06. 500.00 would be my top price to spend. This gun will be used as more of truck/hog/coyote during the off seasons. Would like a scope with a durable finish. Gun is Mossberg 4x4, black syn. stock etc
Lighted cross hair's would be a nice plus, but not necessary

I would highly consider meopta. I have a zeiss conquest 3.5x10x44 and recently bought a meopta 6x18x50 and i think its much clearer and sharper than the zeiss. I paid 550 for it brand new

I dunno, I've got an old 4 power Redfield that I bought in 1964 and stuck on a 700 Rem in .270 and shoot 5 rnd 1 min gourps at 100 yds. The 700 is glass bedded and free floated, but think the scope is what works.

Get a Nikon, they are the best for under $500

I bet you can appreciate what I have on it now. An old 4x Weaver from the early 60's. Was my Grandfathers and has the horizontal line and a vertical post, no crosshairs. Shot it in this weekend and its a tack driver. But I want to get a new scope and put the old one back up

Nikon buckmaster will be perfect for that set up.

Yup! Know where you coming from. Also know how good them old Weatver's were. Not variable power etc. but they did what they did and they did it very well. Somehow we managed to kill a lot of things with the old single power scopes. I usually carnank my 3 X 9's down to three and leave them there anyway.

Go to SWFA and get you a Zeiss Conquest for a shade over $500. Great deals on scopes there.

Camera Land offers top brands & low prices - cameras, repairs and binoculars.

                    Best prices anywhere hands down.

Their service is second to none.

I run zeiss on my rigs and usually purchase the "demo" models....This just means they were put on a gun in the store. My demo models compared to a NIB scope cannot be seen.

Zeiss is also running a rebate offer right now.

Zeiss Conquest is hands down the best scope for the $ out there. I own everything from Nikon to Swarovski and the Zeiss is dang sure hard to beat at any price, but for what you pay you can not beat it at all... Period.
