    Nock: String vs Metal

What are the benfits of each? Pardon the ignorance!

You have more flexibility with the string. You can tame your peep with one if your peep moves. String loops are inexpensive.

I have no experience with this but I have heard tales of the metal loops flying off the string also. I personally don't even use a brass nock set on my string, I tie them in. I don't like metal on my string. YMMV

And what DaveC said in the other thread.

I had a friend with a metal one. Every so ofton if his draw wasn't perfect, the nock would pop of the string.

i'v used a metal one for about two years now.used to use a string loop until it broke on me.
Havent had any trouble with it makes a little noise when putting my release on but never spooked any game, plus its very easy to adjust but will not move on you once tighted.

I think string is alot better. Metal slows your string down and vibrates like crazy.

Are you meaning the nocking point itself, or a metal loop vs. a string loop?

A metal nocking point weighs a bit more, but is easy to adjust. If you install it wrong with a pair of regular pliers, you risk cutting the serving.
