High at 50 could put you low at 300. Keep in mind the.bullet comes out of the muzzle and travels an arc shaped path. If 50 yards is at the top of this arc, the the bullet drops steadily from there on out. There is really not an answer to your question other than go shoot at 300 yds. Or shoot at 100 or 200 and look up the ballistics of that round, do the math, and hope that your rifle performs exactly like the ballistics says it should.

You can look up ballistics data for your caliber, bullet type and bullet weight online. This will get you roughly in the ballpark.
I mean no disrespect as you didn't ask for opinions, but shooting a gun at 50 yards does not prepare you for a 300 yard shot. That gun should be shot by the person who will be hunting at every distance between 0 and 300 yards to establish an accurate trajectory. Different people can also shoot the same gun differently. When my dad and I shoot the same gun at the range, we always have two distinct groups on the target, and that's only at 100 yards.

sighting in 2.5 inch high at 50 gets you 5.85" high at 100 .. just see for yourself above for full chart .. this is for Winchester 150 factory ammo you mentioned...
this is assuming a scope with the crosshair 2 inches from the center of the bore. velocity for this factory round is on a 24 inch barrel in the ballistic program... if your barrel is shorter .. it will drop slightly more
los angle is irrelevant in this case I have that feature turned off in the calculator . this is for shooting uphill or downhill .. the phone has a built in inclinometer that can compute this for you as wellLast edited by imyomama; 12-19-2012, 04:29 PM.
