If i was her boss id be kicking myself. Mistakes are correctable but character like she displayed is a rare find these days.

When i was intwined in the corporate World, I remember many top management meetings where a difficult situation was being debated. managers heatedly debating the letter of company policy and gray areas.

I let it go a while, then stopped them and asked ,"What is the RIGHT thing to do". In virtually EVERY case that ended the arguement. A few years of that and my experienced management would start grinning when a new manager would start impressing me by spouting policy.
